How to get rid of scars?

Hello everyone,

We all know that most scars are simply not that attractive and you'd like to get rid of them as fast as possible. Therefore before you make a next appointment with the dermatologist, check out those tips I'll be giving you right here on AdviceReflection!

Prevention:

First I'd like to talk about how to prevent scar formation. If you have a wound, make sure it's covered and clean so that it won't get infected - infected wounds leave much bigger scars on the flesh. Also, avoid picking at scabs and avoid disposing your wounds or scars to direct sunlight which would prevent them from healing properly; hence creating a more noticeable scar.

How to get rid of scars:

1 - Using Honey

Honey is known to be a prefect antibiotic and most beauty experts recommend it as a great scar treatment. Take a spoon of honey and massage it on your scar. Then leave it on your skin for about 20 - 30 minutes before removing it. If your scar is large, repeat this every day until you achieve better results.

2 - Lemon Juice

Lemon juice lightens the top layer of your scar cells. Squeeze a lemon and mix it with a little water. Then take a cotton pad and apply it on your scar. You can apply this a few times a day if your skin isn't too sensitive. Lemon juice is very effective for most blemishes, especially red acne scars!

3 - Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera gel is very effective in minimising scars especially when they're still fresh. Simply massage the Aloe Vera gel at least twice a day on your scar to get quicker and better results.

4 - Apple Cider Vinegar

Mix some apply cider vinegar with some water and apply on your skin using a cotton pad at least 15 - 20 minutes before washing it off.

5 - Cocoa Butter

Simply massage the cocoa butter on your scar at least twice a day to help in healing and minimising the scar. (Very effective)

6 - Onion extract

Take an onion and squeeze the juice out of it. Then take a cotton pad and dip it into the juice. Then apply it on your scar for about 10 - 15 minutes a few times a day.

7 - Vitamin E

Get some vitamin E capsules, break them open, and hen rub the Vitamin E on your scars. Vitamin E makes your skin smoother, more moisturised, and straightens out the collagen of your skin which is found in scar tissue.

8 - Contact your dermatologist

If none of the ways above help, it's always best to contact your dermatologist so that you can be prescribed stronger creams for your scars.

Well, I'm back again at the end of my article. I truly hope those techniques will help you in partially getting rid of your scars in order to achieve a better flawless skin you always wished you'd have! Please comment, rate, and vote on my poll on the left. Thank you very much in advance,

How to whiten your teeth using home remedies

Hello everyone,

Do you want to have naturally shiny, white teeth but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for just a few teeth whitening sessions? Well, here on AdviceReflection I'll be showing you exactly how to get beautiful, white, and shiny teeth in a few minutes using only the stuff you have at home!

What to do:

1 - Use Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide (You can use Salt instead of hydrogen peroxide too)

  1. Take a small bowl and mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide. Then stir until it's the same consistency of natural toothpaste.
  2. Apply the whitener on your toothbrush and brush your teeth the same way you would when you use toothpaste (Brush your teeth gently).
  3. Keep the whitener on your teeth for maximum 2 - 3 minutes and then rinse your teeth using water or cranberry juice without swallowing. Cranberry juice is antibacterial and at the same time helps you get rid of the taste. If you don't have cranberry juice, simply use water instead.
  4. Your teeth will immediately appear whiter and shinier.
WARNING: Don't use this way if you have cavities or any gum diseases. Also, don't use this whitener more than once a week since it can cause tissue damage if used too often.

2 - Use strawberries

Strawberries contain malic acid which removes discolourations of tooth's top coat, so you can either:
  1. Cut a strawberry in half and rub the inner side of it on your teeth. Then simply rinse your teeth with water.
  2. To make this more effective, mash 1 strawberry with half a teaspoon of baking soda. Mix the mixture and apply it on your teeth, keeping it on for about 5 minutes.
WARNING: Again, use this way only once a while since you don't want your top coat to break down completely! Don't use the 2nd way (The one with baking soda) if you have cavities or any gum diseases either.

3 - Eat crunchy food

Eat foods such as apples, carrots, celery, pears, etc... since they can naturally whiten your teeth due to the acid they contain. The crunchier the food, the higher the ability to clean your teeth and whiten them. Remember that you should eat the fruit/vegetable as a whole fruit for it to give you the white effect.

4 - Drink beverages through a straw

It's best to drink beverages through a straw in order to avoid any major contact with your teeth since most drinks make your teeth yellow and make them appear dirty.

5 - Use Lemon, baking soda and water

  1. Squeeze some lemon juice from a lemon in 1 cup
  2. Add baking soda in another cup
  3. Add a little water to the lemon juice cup
  4. Pour the Lemon juice with water into the baking soda cup
  5. A chemical reaction will happen and it will fuzz
  6. Gurgle the fizz and move it through your mouth for less than a minute
  7. Spit out the rest of the mixture and rinse your mouth with normal water or cranberry juice
WARNING: Don't use this more than once in 2 weeks since the acidity may again break down the tooth enamel if used too often. Don't use this way if you have cavities or any gum diseases.

6 - Don't drink drinks that make your teeth yellow and don't smoke

Avoid smoking and drinking coffee, alcohol, tea, soda, or red wine.

7 - Brush your teeth daily

Make sure you brush your teeth every day when you wake up and before you go to bed with a teeth whitening toothpaste. DO NOT brush your teeth IMMEDIATELY after you eat because this way you are removing the enzymes in your mouth which actually help your teeth. Instead, brushing your teeth about 10-15 minutes after eating will be better and more convenient.

So, I'm back at the end of my post. Please comment and rate my article and please vote on my poll, I'd be very grateful for everything! :)

How to get rid of dark circles & puffy eyes

Hello everyone,

You wake up in the morning and go brush your teeth. Then you go and spot yourself in the mirror and let out a cry. "There's no way I can go out like that!!!" You scream at your reflection and stare at your puffy eyes with dark circles. You grab the concealer and try to hide them, yet hours later it melts and your dark circles show up again. "How to get rid of them?" you ask yourself; well, your solution is right here!

What to apply for Puffy eyes & Dark circles:

1 - Cold water

Dip a towel into really cold water and apply it on your puffy eyelids. Keep it on your eyes until it gets warm and repeat the process if needed. (For Puffy eyes)

2 - Teabags

Dip a teabag into cold water, put it on your eyes and keep it on for 10-15 minutes. (For both dark circles and puffy eyes)

3 - Cucumber

Slice cold cucumbers and place them on your eyes. (For both dark circles and puffy eyes)

4 - Cream with Aloe Vera

Use aloe Vera cream on your eyes to help reduce the inflammation. (For puffy eyes)

5 - Potatoes

Wash some potatoes and slice them into fine bits. Put them into a clean cloth to make a poultice and place it over your eyes for about 10-15 minutes. (For both dark circles and puffy eyes)

6 - Egg whites

Whisk some egg whites until they're stiff and slowly apply them on your eyelids until they sit down. (For both dark circles and puffy eyes)

7 - Spoons

Put 2 large spoons in the fridge and keep them there for about 10 minutes. When they're cold enough, take them out of the fridge and place them on your swollen eyes. (For puffy eyes)

8 - Salt

Get 1/4 liters of warm water and dip 1/2 a teaspoon of salt in it. Mix until the salt is dissolved and dip cotton pads into the solution. Place it on your eyelids for 10 minutes while lying down. Your eyes will be as puff-free as before. (For both dark circles and puffy eyes)
9 - Drink water

You must drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to help you with reducing eye puffiness. (Effective for both dark circles and puffy eyes)

10 - Medication

If your eyes get really puffy and you feel that nothing helps, it's always best to go visit the doctor to help prescribe you proper medication for your swollen eyes.

Nail Care

Hello everyone,

It's known that most teens take care of their looks. A big part of their beauty includes also hands and nails. What I will be mainly listing today will be all about nail care and how to exactly treat what condition you might have, including tips on how cut and treat them.

How to make your nails stronger?

Take a bowl and put some olive oil in there. Then dip your nails for about 10 minutes. This nourishes them and makes them stronger, therefore, less breakable. Repeat this process every other day and simply when needed.

How to cut hard nails?

If your nails seem hard to cut simply put them in warm water and add a little salt. Then keep them in there for about 10 - 15 minutes. This should make your nails softer and therefore easier to cut without damaging them.

Do you have yellow and dull nails? Want to get rid of that?

Yellow, dull nails can be caused by either vitamin deficiencies or constant use of dark nail polishes. There are 2 ways of getting rid of yellow nails.
1 - 1 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide
2 - 1 cup of warm water
Mix and put your nails in it for 10 - 15 minutes.
Another way includes rubbing your nails with white vinegar and then washing them with warm water and soap.

Do you bite your nails? You want to stop?

In this case you can simply go to the pharmacy and buy yourself the stop nail biting polishes. They taste awful and therefore make it much easier to stop your bad habit. Also you can try putting on artificial nails which you won't really want to bite - this is also one good way of stopping. Try one of those two and it should really help. Of course, along with those two techniques you should also be strongly determined to stop and really want to get rid of this bad habit.

What to do against peeling nails?

To avoid peeling nails, don't use cheap drugstore nail clippers which damage your nails even more; and make sure you file your nails at least 3 times a week starting from the middle and then going to the sides. Also peeling and splitting nails may be caused by low calcium, vitamin A, D, and B12 deficiency, so make sure you increase your intake of dairy products and foods that include the specified vitamins. Also don't expose your nails to any chemicals and wet conditions since this might be another reason why your nails are getting peeled.

What to do against white spots on your nails?

Those spots are caused due to nail dehydration and lack of keratin. Also nail trauma and pressure applied on nails can cause those white lines and spots and this is most likely the reason for that. The only cure for those is time (wait until you can cut them off which usually takes approx. 8 weeks) or simply cover them up with some nail polish. In addition to that, don't forget to drink a lot of water to nourish your body and nails.

What to do against cuticles?

Cuticles can be caused by dry skin around nails which causes them to crack and peel. In that case you shouldn't cut them with unsterilised scissors because that can cause redness, swelling, and even infections. When you get cuticles around and under your whole nails then you should make sure you moisturise them with moisturising cream and olive oil daily. then you should cut them with sterilised scissors but not too close to your skin. If you get cuticles immediately under your nail then it's best to push it back down using an orange stick and also moisturise every day with cream and olive oil.

What to do against nail ridges?

If you have nail ridges, it's most probably caused because of malnutrition or the lack of vitamin B. It's also best to include a healthier, more nutritious diet that would benefit your whole body in general.

What to do about hangnails?

Hangnails are caused due to vitamin C, protein, or follicle acid deficiency. To get rid of hangnails you should first dip them in warm water. then soften them by applying moisturiser and cut them using cuticle scissors. Repeat this cycle whenever new hangnails appear and don't forget to always keep your nails damp and moisturised.

Nail Tips:

1 - Don't apply nail polish too often, let your nails breathe from time to time

2 - Use nail strengthening nail polishes if your nails are weak

3 - Remove nail polish with acetone when you want to apply new layers of nail polish

4 - Always file your nails after you cut them so that they don't peel and get damaged

5 - Don't leave your nails long when they're dry and brittle

I'm back at the end of my article and I truly hope it helps and benefits you. Please comment and rate this article, I'd be very thankful for that.

Getting rid of pimples using natural products

Hello everyone,

Today's topic will be about how to get rid of pimples using natural ingredients. Pimples can be a living nightmare for us teens and are formed due to our hormonal changes and puberty. To avoid infections and the spreading of bacteria on your face I will first add a few steps you should follow each time before you start applying the products that should remove your pimples over night.

Then I will state the recommended natural products, and at the very end I will mention tips on how to prevent an outbreak in the future.

Steps before applying any natural product:

1 - Wash your hands with soap

2 - Wash your face gently with warm water

3 - Exfoliate around the pimple to open its pores

4 - Wash your hands before moving on to another pimple

What you can use to treat pimples:

1 - Ice

Place the ice in a cloth and gently apply it over your pimple to reduce its redness and inflammation. Apply ice also when you feel a new pimple forming because that usually prevents the pimple from emerging and growing.

2 - Lemon

Lemons have a highly acidic PH level and therefore the acidity is best in treating pimples. Gently squeeze a lemon in a bowl and dip a cotton pad into it. Remember to use new cotton pads for each new pimple/area so that you avoid the spreading of bacteria. Keep the cotton pad with the lemon juice on the pimples for about a minute.

3 - Toothpaste

Toothpaste is also a very good remedy for your pimples. Take some toothpaste and dab a bit of it on each one of your pimples. leave it on your skin overnight and in the morning carefully peel it off. The mint in the toothpaste dries out the pimple and sucks out any puss; but be careful because if your skin is too sensitive the toothpaste may cause a mild burning sensation and redness. In that case, discontinue the usage
of toothpaste and follow another remedy that suits you more.

4 - Honey & Cinnamon face mask

Put some honey in a bowl and mix it with cinnamon powder. Add just a little bit of water to make it less viscous and then apply it as a face mask for about 2 - 4 hours. This should be repeated more than 3 times a week so that it would completely remove the pimples and reduce their formation.

5 - Aspirin

Crush 2 or 3 aspirin tablets and add a little bit of lukewarm water to make a paste. Take that paste and dab it on to your pimples and keep it overnight.

6 - Garlic

Garlic is known to be very good in removing the bacteria and acts and an antibiotic. Garlic also removes the pimples without leaving any scars and therefore is an ideal natural product for pimples. Gently rub it on your pimple and wait for a few hours. Then wash your face with cool water and dry your skin with a towel.

Tips on how to prevent pimple outbreak:

1 - Wash your face every day with warm water and apply moisturising cream afterwards

2 - Don't EVER sleep with your make up on and don't keep it on your face for long since foundation (whether liquid or powder) can create pimples and outbreaks

3 - Protect your skin from sunlight and use sun screen with at least 15 SPF

4 - Drink lots and lots of water (at least 8 large cups). Water's not only healthy but it moisturises the skin and prevents pimple outbreaks

5 - Do several face masks that nourish and soften your skin

6 - Exercise, have balanced healthy diet and avoid oily junk food

So I'm at the end of my article and I hope that those tips will help you with getting rid of any pimples or acne! I'd be very thankful if you comment and rate this article and tell me what topic you'd like to see tomorrow. Thanks in advance for everything,

Keeping your hair healthy using natural products

Hello everyone,

I'm back again; and today's topic that will be discussed is hair. As we all know, hair could be counted as one of the sexiest features in a girl and it's important to know exactly how to take care of it.

Split ends, dry hair, oily hair, thin hair, hair fall... This is what most of you could encounter and end up devastated when all the hair products specified for your hair problem end up in the rubbish bin since none work the way you want them to!

Well, you may have tried all those hair conditioners, but have you ever tried applying natural ingredients on your hair before rinsing it off with your casual shampoo? In fact, those natural ingredients are way more effective than any other conditioner and help your hair in many ways.

Here are some natural products you can use for your hair along with a guide on how to apply them:

1 - Olive Oil

1 - Put some olive oil in a bowl
2 - Take a cotton pad and dip it in the oil
3 - Rub the cotton pad especially on the hair roots and continue until it's applied all over your hair
4 - Put a plastic cap on your head and keep the olive oil on your hair from 20 - 30 minutes
5 - Afterwards wash your hair with your casual shampoo until all the oil is gone

What olive oil does to your hair:

Olive oil makes your hair shiny, healthy, strong, and keeps it moisturised. Olive oil is also really good for treating split ends and hair damage. Of course you should also trim your hair every month at least 2 cm to guarantee healthier hair and better results.

How often should you apply it:

It's best to apply olive oil at least once a month to guarantee the strong and shiny hair effect.

2 - Egg Yolks

1 - Crack open 1 or 2 eggs depending on the length of your hair
2 - Add 1 tbsp of olive oil
3 - Whisk and mix with 1 cup of lukewarm water
4 - Wet your hair with cool water
5 - Apply your home made egg yolk conditioner on your hair
6 - Comb your hair and leave it for about 10 minutes
7 - Rinse your hair with COOL water since you don't want the eggs to boil on your head
8 - Use your casual shampoo until all the egg yolk is gone

What egg yolk does to your hair:

Egg yolk is known to make your hair grow faster and also gives it texture and a great shine. Eggs are rich in proteins and therefore any dull, dry hair will become healthier and shinier.

How often should you apply it:

Egg yolk treatment should be used whenever you spot your hair becoming dull and dry, but be cautious because if your hair is already shiny and moisturised it can make it brittle due to overload in protein.

3 - Honey

1 - Heat in microwave 4 tbsp of olive oil to make it warm (the heating part is optional; warm olive oil keeps you relaxed)
2 - Add 1 tbsp of plain white yogurt
3 - Add 2 tbsp of honey
4 - Mix everything together and apply on your hair, focusing on the roots
5 - Keep it on your head for a maximum of 20 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water until all the home made conditioner is gone.
6 - You might also want to use your casual hair shampoo to remove any excess conditioner left on your hair.

What honey conditioner does to your hair:

This honey conditioner prevents hair loss and at the same time prevents hair from getting thinner. It also increases the health of your hair follicles and your scalp.

How often should you apply it:

This conditioner should be applied once or twice a month.

4 - Yogurt

One way is to:

1 - Put half a cup of white yogurt in a blender
2 - Make a smooth paste with it
3 - Coat your hair with yogurt
4 - Wrap your hair in a towel
5 - Keep it on your hair for about 15 minutes
6 - Rinse your hair and wash with your shampoo until all the yogurt is gone

Another way is to:

1 - Take 4 tbsp of yogurt
2 - Add 2 egg
3 - Mix in a bowl
4 - Apply on hair
5 - Leave for 10 minutes
6 - Rinse your hair with lukewarm water and wash with your shampoo until it's all gone

What yogurt does to your hair:

The first way:

Yogurt not only helps you get rid of hair knots, it also promotes hair growth and adds a nice silky touch and a great shine. It also prevents your scalp from drying since it nourishes the skin and keeps it moisturised.

The second way:

The second is good in preventing any frizzy hair; so if your hair is frizzy it is best to use yogurt with egg yolk rather than only yogurt by itself.

How often sould you apply it:

Yogurt and eggs have a lot of proteins so again, if your hair is already shiny and strong I would recommend you to do it every month but if your hair is extremely dull and thin then this treatment should be applied every 2 and a half weeks. Then when you start feeling that your hair is getting better, start applying this hair treatment once a month.

5 - Lemon

1 - Squeeze the juice of a lemon
2 - Add 1 cup of water
3 - You can put it in a spray bottle and carefully apply it on your hair, especially aiming the liquid on the roots
4 - Keep it from 10 - 15 minutes depending on how oily your hair is. The oilier it is, the longer it should be kept on (but not longer than 20 minutes)
5 - Rinse your hair with warm water and wash your hair with your casual shampoo

What lemon does to your hair:

Lemon is known to make your hair lighter, but it also sucks the oil out of it and therefore is very useful if you have greasy hair.

How often sould you apply it:

The lemon treatment should be used whenever needed. If you notice that your hair is extremely greasy then you should use it once every two weeks, but if your hair is mildly greasy then once a month would be good.

Hair Tips:
Have you ever wanted your hair to be either lighter or darker but you didn't want to dye it because you knew that it would damage your hair? Well, I have two hair tips for you that require only natural ingredients and an empty spray bottle.

To make your hair lighter:

1 - Prepare strong chamomile tea (you can buy it from any shop)
2 - Wait for it to cool off
3 - When it's cool put it in a spray bottle
4 - Wet your hair and squeeze of any excess water
5 - Spray your hair with the tea
6 - Keep it for about 10 - 15 minutes
7 - Rinse it with lukewarm water and let it dry

What chamomile tea does to your hair:

Chamomile tea naturally brings out blond hair highlights and therefore makes the hair lighter and brighter.

How often should you apply it:

Chamomile tea dries out you hair a little and therefore if your hair is naturally dry you should do one of the hair treatments I suggested above that make your hair shinier, healthier, and more moisturised. If you want your hair to significantly get lighter in a very short period of time you should repeat this process at least once a week along with regular hair moisturising treatments.

To make your hair darker:

1 - Prepare strong black tea (you can buy it from any shop)
2 - Wait for it to cool off
3 - When it's cool put it in a spray bottle
4 - Wet your hair and squeeze of any excess water
5 - Spray your hair with the tea
6 - Keep it for about 10 - 15 minutes
7 - Rinse it with lukewarm water and let it dry

What black tea does to your hair:

Black tea is known to make your hair darker.

How often should you apply it:

Black tea also slightly dries out your hair and therefore should be applied and used the same was as chamomile tea. In addition to that don't forget to use the hair moisturising treatments regularly if your hair is naturally dry.

So here are the several ways you can take care of your hair. Hope it helps and please comment on what you think of this article! Thanks in advance :)
