Keeping your hair healthy using natural products

Hello everyone,

I'm back again; and today's topic that will be discussed is hair. As we all know, hair could be counted as one of the sexiest features in a girl and it's important to know exactly how to take care of it.

Split ends, dry hair, oily hair, thin hair, hair fall... This is what most of you could encounter and end up devastated when all the hair products specified for your hair problem end up in the rubbish bin since none work the way you want them to!

Well, you may have tried all those hair conditioners, but have you ever tried applying natural ingredients on your hair before rinsing it off with your casual shampoo? In fact, those natural ingredients are way more effective than any other conditioner and help your hair in many ways.

Here are some natural products you can use for your hair along with a guide on how to apply them:

1 - Olive Oil

1 - Put some olive oil in a bowl
2 - Take a cotton pad and dip it in the oil
3 - Rub the cotton pad especially on the hair roots and continue until it's applied all over your hair
4 - Put a plastic cap on your head and keep the olive oil on your hair from 20 - 30 minutes
5 - Afterwards wash your hair with your casual shampoo until all the oil is gone

What olive oil does to your hair:

Olive oil makes your hair shiny, healthy, strong, and keeps it moisturised. Olive oil is also really good for treating split ends and hair damage. Of course you should also trim your hair every month at least 2 cm to guarantee healthier hair and better results.

How often should you apply it:

It's best to apply olive oil at least once a month to guarantee the strong and shiny hair effect.

2 - Egg Yolks

1 - Crack open 1 or 2 eggs depending on the length of your hair
2 - Add 1 tbsp of olive oil
3 - Whisk and mix with 1 cup of lukewarm water
4 - Wet your hair with cool water
5 - Apply your home made egg yolk conditioner on your hair
6 - Comb your hair and leave it for about 10 minutes
7 - Rinse your hair with COOL water since you don't want the eggs to boil on your head
8 - Use your casual shampoo until all the egg yolk is gone

What egg yolk does to your hair:

Egg yolk is known to make your hair grow faster and also gives it texture and a great shine. Eggs are rich in proteins and therefore any dull, dry hair will become healthier and shinier.

How often should you apply it:

Egg yolk treatment should be used whenever you spot your hair becoming dull and dry, but be cautious because if your hair is already shiny and moisturised it can make it brittle due to overload in protein.

3 - Honey

1 - Heat in microwave 4 tbsp of olive oil to make it warm (the heating part is optional; warm olive oil keeps you relaxed)
2 - Add 1 tbsp of plain white yogurt
3 - Add 2 tbsp of honey
4 - Mix everything together and apply on your hair, focusing on the roots
5 - Keep it on your head for a maximum of 20 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water until all the home made conditioner is gone.
6 - You might also want to use your casual hair shampoo to remove any excess conditioner left on your hair.

What honey conditioner does to your hair:

This honey conditioner prevents hair loss and at the same time prevents hair from getting thinner. It also increases the health of your hair follicles and your scalp.

How often should you apply it:

This conditioner should be applied once or twice a month.

4 - Yogurt

One way is to:

1 - Put half a cup of white yogurt in a blender
2 - Make a smooth paste with it
3 - Coat your hair with yogurt
4 - Wrap your hair in a towel
5 - Keep it on your hair for about 15 minutes
6 - Rinse your hair and wash with your shampoo until all the yogurt is gone

Another way is to:

1 - Take 4 tbsp of yogurt
2 - Add 2 egg
3 - Mix in a bowl
4 - Apply on hair
5 - Leave for 10 minutes
6 - Rinse your hair with lukewarm water and wash with your shampoo until it's all gone

What yogurt does to your hair:

The first way:

Yogurt not only helps you get rid of hair knots, it also promotes hair growth and adds a nice silky touch and a great shine. It also prevents your scalp from drying since it nourishes the skin and keeps it moisturised.

The second way:

The second is good in preventing any frizzy hair; so if your hair is frizzy it is best to use yogurt with egg yolk rather than only yogurt by itself.

How often sould you apply it:

Yogurt and eggs have a lot of proteins so again, if your hair is already shiny and strong I would recommend you to do it every month but if your hair is extremely dull and thin then this treatment should be applied every 2 and a half weeks. Then when you start feeling that your hair is getting better, start applying this hair treatment once a month.

5 - Lemon

1 - Squeeze the juice of a lemon
2 - Add 1 cup of water
3 - You can put it in a spray bottle and carefully apply it on your hair, especially aiming the liquid on the roots
4 - Keep it from 10 - 15 minutes depending on how oily your hair is. The oilier it is, the longer it should be kept on (but not longer than 20 minutes)
5 - Rinse your hair with warm water and wash your hair with your casual shampoo

What lemon does to your hair:

Lemon is known to make your hair lighter, but it also sucks the oil out of it and therefore is very useful if you have greasy hair.

How often sould you apply it:

The lemon treatment should be used whenever needed. If you notice that your hair is extremely greasy then you should use it once every two weeks, but if your hair is mildly greasy then once a month would be good.

Hair Tips:
Have you ever wanted your hair to be either lighter or darker but you didn't want to dye it because you knew that it would damage your hair? Well, I have two hair tips for you that require only natural ingredients and an empty spray bottle.

To make your hair lighter:

1 - Prepare strong chamomile tea (you can buy it from any shop)
2 - Wait for it to cool off
3 - When it's cool put it in a spray bottle
4 - Wet your hair and squeeze of any excess water
5 - Spray your hair with the tea
6 - Keep it for about 10 - 15 minutes
7 - Rinse it with lukewarm water and let it dry

What chamomile tea does to your hair:

Chamomile tea naturally brings out blond hair highlights and therefore makes the hair lighter and brighter.

How often should you apply it:

Chamomile tea dries out you hair a little and therefore if your hair is naturally dry you should do one of the hair treatments I suggested above that make your hair shinier, healthier, and more moisturised. If you want your hair to significantly get lighter in a very short period of time you should repeat this process at least once a week along with regular hair moisturising treatments.

To make your hair darker:

1 - Prepare strong black tea (you can buy it from any shop)
2 - Wait for it to cool off
3 - When it's cool put it in a spray bottle
4 - Wet your hair and squeeze of any excess water
5 - Spray your hair with the tea
6 - Keep it for about 10 - 15 minutes
7 - Rinse it with lukewarm water and let it dry

What black tea does to your hair:

Black tea is known to make your hair darker.

How often should you apply it:

Black tea also slightly dries out your hair and therefore should be applied and used the same was as chamomile tea. In addition to that don't forget to use the hair moisturising treatments regularly if your hair is naturally dry.

So here are the several ways you can take care of your hair. Hope it helps and please comment on what you think of this article! Thanks in advance :)
